Today I win the worst mother of the year award. Adam and Mason went outside to play a little before 9 while I was trying to get ready for the day. I was inside when I looked out the front window and see Adam across the street at the Mac's store and Mason in the middle of the street in front of a car stopped in the middle of the road. Am I a bad mom or what? They had unlatched the back gate that was not locked and got out through the alley. When I ran across the street shoeless carrying Mason to get Adam. He was trying to get the door to the store open so that he could get a slurpee. Needless to say the gate will always be locked from here on out. I'm really glad that I just happened to look out the window before anything worse could have happened or my children were lost forever. HOpefully no one will report me to social services. Another day for the history books!

I am amazed by Halle today. I picked them up from school and as we are eating lunch Brady was talking about his day. He and halle have both had the same grade one teacher when Halle pipes in and says once Mrs. Brown gave a me a great compliment. She said that i make beautiful x's. This shocked me. it's been over 2 years and yet she still remembers it and is so proud even now. i guess I really need to be more careful about how I speak to them because remembering the bad stuff is way easier than remembering the good stuff. From here on out I am determined to be much more complimentary.

Torch run at Dr. Hamman
A few weeks ago our kids elementary school had their own torch run and a friend of mine found that our local newspaper posted it on youtube. I found it and saw my kids in a few times. I thought I would share it because it is cute to see how excited the kids are.

Last night I was watching tv and relaxing with Kyle when we saw that Father of the Bride was on. I love this movie. It is one of my favorites. It always makes me cry and last night was no exception. But the scariest thing I figured out last night was that if Halle gets married at the same age I did it is only 13 years away. How is that possible? She is my baby. I'm hoping she won't get married until she's older than I was becasue that is coming way too fast. Here's a clip enjoy!

Quote of the day
This is my favorite quote from today.
"All this cookie eating is very emotionally draining" Cookie Monster.
We were watching sesame street while I was folding laundry and this was said. I love it. i feel like that about eating in general.

The other day I was taking the kids to pick Halle up from piano lessons and Brady and I had the funniest conversation. Brady was sitting in the van when he started our conversation like this
Brady: Guess what mom?
Me: What?
Brady: I have a problem. ( sounding very stressed)
Me: What's wrong?
Brady: I just don't know who I am going to marry. What am I going to do?
Me: Honey, you have lots of time, maybe you don't even know her yet.
Brady: maybe, hopefully she's nice.
Me: let's just wait and see what happens let's not worry about that while you're in grade 1.
Brady: actually mom, I changed my mind. I think I'm going to marry Kaelen Pardy, she's really nice.
Me: well sounds like a plan but we'll wait until you get older.
Brady: Alright I do have to go on a mission first.
What a funny boy he is. He makes me smile with the funny things that he comes up with. He was seriously stressed that he doesn't know who he is going to marry. You just had to be there to hear him. It was so cute. Talk to you soon.

2010
I am so glad that 2009 is over. I welcome 2010 with open arms. What a year it was. So as I know that everyone is making resolutions here are a few of mine.
1. Make friends with my sewing machine. I am going to be a sewer by the end of the year.
2. Finish all of the projects in my UFO ( unfinished objects box)
3. Participate in the Taber stake family triathlon.
4. Read the entire standard works this year. ( I've already started the old testament. boy things were screwy back then!)
5. Be a better mom.
6. Try to form new hobbies and learn some new skills.( I loved learning to crochet last year and will continue on with it. I would
love to develop another fun skill this year, any ideas?)
7. Be kinder to those around me. Try to do one act of service per day.
8. Be more open to change. ( this will be a struggle for me. I HATE change)
9. Follow through with everything that I start. Nothing added to the UFO box.
10. Just try to take life one day at a time and enjoy what gets put in my path.
Does that sound like way too many things? I really don't want to set myself up to fail. I'm excited for this new year. BRING IT ON!
ON a side note, I am going to try to post a picture every day. They may be random byt we'll see how we do.
What are your goals this year? Talk to you soon.
